UPDATE: 25th August 2016
Well, things didn’t quite work out as we thought they would, but that is part of the beauty of the journey, isn’t it?
We did pass through Delhi on the way back to the UK, and we did do a couple of early summer sits in the UK, which were wonderful. However, an exciting opportunity came up in San Miguel de Allende in July, so at the end June we flew west to Mexico.
We enjoyed a couple of weeks of “holiday” in and around Cancun, but a lot of our time there was spent working on Issue 1 of our new online digital magazine:
More details about this in a later post.
We flew from Merida to Mexico City, and headed north-west to our house sit assignment, enjoying a wonderful month there.
We are now back in Panama in our old home area, Bocas del Toro, house sitting for one of my previous neighbours for a month. It is great to catch up with old friends.
Our next assignment is in Nicaragua, then we have about three weeks to explore Central America, before returning to San Miguel for a second assignment there. That will take us up to the end of the year.
We are currently un-booked for January, plan a month in Cuba in February, return to San Miguel for a third assignment there in March/April.
In May we head back to the UK very briefly, before heading south to Botswana in Africa, for a three-month assignment on the edge of the Okavango Delta – we are very excited about that one!
After that? We’re not sure. Maybe back to the UK for the summer.
UPDATE: 23rd Jan 2016
We are quickly approaching the end of our wonderful house sit assignment in Australia.
What next? Well, on 31st January we fly to Fiji where we will be “resort sitting” a luxurious beach-side holiday retreat.
We’re looking after “Serenity Point” for the month of February, overseeing off-season repairs and maintenance. After that we plan to take some time out for personal travel, doing some Fijian island-hopping.
We return to Australia in mid-March, and have a couple of months of back-to-back house sits lined up in and around Perth, Western Australia.
After that we’re still pretty open and flexible. We will be travelling back to the UK at some point, and are considering passing through Delhi in India. My brother Martin and partner Rachel are now living there, having relocated from Abu Dhabi, where we visited than last year.
If all works out we plan to spend the summer months in Europe, then possibly head to the Caribbean, Cuba, Central or South America. Or maybe back to Australia.
Oh, the possibilities!!
